What This is About

A little over a month ago I resigned from a job in software development. I resigned without any prospects or idea of what I wanted to do next. All I knew was there was this feeling inside me that was so strong that I couldn’t deny it.

I had been waiting my entire life to be able to make a decision based on such strong feelings… you might call it a decision made by the heart. There was very little hesitation or nervousness about making this decision because it came from within.

After about a week of being “retired” I started to think about what I wanted to do next. I knew I had always enjoyed photography as a hobby. After more thought I realized how great I feel when I am taking pictures. It makes me as giddy as a kid on the last day of school. When I find a perfect shot or a great angle I feel exhilarated.

For the last year or so I had been toying around with the idea of going on some type of extended trip. Originally I had planned on Europe, and everyone says what an experience it is to be surrounded in the diversity there.

I will make it there eventually, but I want to see MY country first. I think there is plenty of diversity right here in the states.

With starting up my own photography business, a cross country road trip provides an excellent opportunity to fill up my portfolio. I hope to turn the photos into a book also, but my ideas around that deserve their own post.

So, that’s what this is all about. Come along for the ride.
